Attendance:  The State Board of Trustees requires regular attendance in 100 level courses.  Students are allowed five unexcused absences per semester.  Students must present the instructor with a written excuse before any absences are excused.  Absences are excused at the instructor's discretion.  It is the responsibility of the student to obtain information from the missed class period(s).  It is the student's responsibility to sign the attendance sheet and notify the instructor immediately after class if he/she has not been given the opportunity to do so.  While in class, please remember to turn off all cellular phones and beepers.

Grades:  There will be four, 50-minute exams.  Final grades will be determined by performance on the four exams given throughout the semester.  Each exam will be equally weighted.  It is your responsibility to bring a 50-item blue or brown scantron as well as a number two pencil for the exams.  Eyes must be visible by the instructor at all times during the testing period.  Hats may not be worn during tests.

Points for each exam will be totaled and grades assigned in this manner:

            90% and above            A

            80% to 89%                 B

            70% to 79%                 C

            60% to 69%                 D

            Below 60%                 F

Make-Ups:  All make-up exams are essay format.  Missing an exam without legitimate documented justification will result in a grade of zero for that exam.  Students who miss for documented reasons will be responsible for scheduling the make-up exam within one week of the original test date. Requests for make-up exams must be submitted in writing or via e-mail.  Requests must include the number of the test missed, reason for missing the test, and desired date for the make-up.  Missed make-up exams will result in a grade of zero for that exam.  A student will be allowed one make-up exam during the semester.

Extra Credit

If extra credit assignments are made available, they will be due the last day of regular class unless otherwise specified.

Emergency Evacuation Procedures: A map of this floor is posted near the elevator/wheelevator marking the evacuation route the Designated Rescue Areas.  This is an area where emergency service personnel will go first to look for individuals who need assistance in exiting the building.  Students who may need assistance should identify themselves to the teaching faculty.

Note:  The instructor reserves the right to create, enforce, or alter rules, change test dates, test formats, and any syllabus material should the need present itself.  Students will be informed immediately of any changes made.
